
Jessica Nugent-Herrett
Jess Nugent-Herrett is the Marketing and Business Development Lead at Ridley & Hall Solicitors, working closely with partners and colleagues across the firm to support strategic growth, strengthen client and referrer relationships, raise the firm’s profile, and champion initiatives that enhance both colleague and client experience.
Appointed to the firm’s leadership team in January 2026, Jess plays a key role in driving business development, marketing, employer branding, community engagement, and internal culture initiatives. She is particularly passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where colleagues feel empowered to develop their careers, share ideas, and contribute beyond their day-to-day roles. Her work focuses on ensuring the firm’s values are reflected in how Ridley & Hall operates, communicates, and supports its people and communities.
Prior to moving into her current role, Jess spent eight years working in property law. During this time she built a strong reputation for client service and professional excellence, receiving both regional and national recognition. In 2025, she was named National Junior Lawyer of the Year, one of the legal profession’s highest accolades for emerging talent. Her achievements attracted significant media attention, including an interview with ITV Calendar and features in The Yorkshire Post. Jess was also promoted to Associate in January 2025.
Jess joined Ridley and Hall and qualified as a solicitor in August 2023 after completing her training contract, where she gained experience in Conveyancing, Wills and Probate, and Child Abuse law. She began her legal career as a Conveyancing paralegal in 2018 and commenced her training contract in 2022.
Academically, Jess completed a BA (Hons) in History in 2016 before undertaking her Graduate Diploma in Law in 2017. She went on to complete the Legal Practice Course alongside an MSc in Business, Law & Management in 2018.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys cooking, reading, gaming, professional wrestling and martial arts. She has trained in Wing Chun Kung Fu for eight years and currently practises kickboxing, reflecting her interest in discipline, resilience and continuous self-development. An enthusiastic traveller, she enjoys exploring new cultures and has visited destinations including Japan and China, with many more places still on her bucket list.
