Defending a Will Challenge

Why join Ridley & Hall?

A century of changing lives.
A firm that feels like home.

Icon Shield Tick Blue

Founded 1927.
Still ahead of our time.

Thomas Ridley and Frank Hall opened our doors in Huddersfield in 1927, and we've stayed relevant for a century the same way we started: by doing work others wouldn't. Our lawyers built national reputations in kinship care, adoption and missing people cases when those areas of law barely existed. Join us and you won't just practise law, you'll help shape it.

Icon Heart Blue

A firm that gives back.
Not just words.

Charity here isn't a poster in reception. Our people fundraise all year round for local causes, our senior partner holds an MBE for his work in kinship care, and our lawyers have shared their expertise as far away as Uganda and Brazil. A hundred years in Yorkshire teaches you that a firm is only as strong as the community around it.

Icon Family Blue

Serious work. We don't
take ourselves too seriously.

Ask our people what it's like here and they'll mention the work first: complex, meaningful, career-defining. Then they'll mention the birthday day off, volunteering in the community, the Ridley An' All social committee, and the friendships that make coming to work enjoyable. Award-winning law firm, genuinely good place to build be.

“The Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme is an appealing route to become a solicitor because I am able to learn on the job as well as in the classroom. Ridley and Hall are a supportive firm who have their employees best interests at heart, encouraging them to strive to the best of their potential without having to go down the traditional route. I am looking forward to gaining experience on the job whilst learning the ins and outs of different areas of law at university.”
