Gemma is a Partner in the Commercial Property team at Ridley & Hall, working across the firm’s South Elmsall and Barnsley offices. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and advises both businesses and private individuals on a wide range of commercial and agricultural property matters.

Gemma graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a First-Class Law degree and was awarded the Law Society Proxime Accessit Prize before completing the Legal Practice Course.

Having worked in commercial property throughout her career, Gemma has developed experience across all aspects of the sector. More recently, she has focused on acting for developers in connection with site acquisitions and connected infrastructure documentation, refinancing transactions and transfers to registered providers. She also advises landlords and tenants on a broad range of leasehold matters.

Alongside her commercial property practice, Gemma has extensive experience in agricultural property regularly advising on a variety of agricultural land transactions ,  Agricultural Holdings Act matters and more recently, diversification projects such as renewable energy options and leases

Gemma prides herself on providing practical, commercially focused advice tailored to her clients’ objectives. As a genuine people person, the part of her role she enjoys most is forming strong, long-lasting relationships with her clients. She values the opportunity to work closely with individuals and businesses alike.

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her young family, watching live music, and reading.
