Vicky Medd – Executive Partner & Specialist Family Solicitor

Vicky Medd is our first Executive Partner and works closely with the Board of Directors at Ridley and Hall. She is also the President of the Huddersfield and Dewsbury Incorporated Law Society this year, where she has introduced family law training for all firms within the society.

A solicitor with over 30 years’ experience exclusively in family work, Vicky specialises in financial matters arising from divorce and separation. She has extensive experience dealing with small and medium‑sized business assets, disputes involving matrimonial and non‑matrimonial property, and pre‑nuptial agreements. As a Resolution Accredited Specialist in finance, she brings exceptional expertise to complex financial cases.

Vicky has a strong track record of helping clients navigate difficult relationships and emotionally challenging legal proceedings. Her approach is sensible, practical and pragmatic, always aiming to resolve cases cost‑effectively while securing the best possible outcomes. She is known for being down‑to‑earth, compassionate and sensitive to the difficulties clients face at what can be one of the most difficult times in their lives. Her goal is to empower clients to make informed decisions about their future.

As a family mediator, Vicky works with couples to reach agreed outcomes that work for both parties, guiding them through complex financial negotiations. She is a member of the Family Mediators Association and a Foundation Training Course Assessor for the Family Mediation Council.

Vicky is also the first solicitor in Huddersfield and Barnsley to train as a Resolution Together solicitor, delivering our Working Together: Divorce & Separation with ‘One Couple, One Lawyer’ service. She recognises that many separating couples want to work together to achieve fair and practical solutions, while still receiving professional guidance on challenging issues. These cases involve a rigorous scoping process, and Vicky has achieved a 100% positive outcome rate over the last two years.

Outside of her professional commitments, Vicky is married with two grown‑up children. She enjoys walking her two golden retrievers, Ringo and Rolo, who especially love a muddy puddle. She is also a director on the New College Collaborative Trust board and serves as the SEND Director.
