Tamara has been a qualified solicitor since 2009, initially specialising in criminal law. She is a qualified Police Station Representative and a Higher Courts Criminal Advocate, which allows her to represent clients from the police station through to the Crown Court. During her time as a criminal solicitor, she encountered cases that overlapped between the Family and Criminal Courts. Over the past four years, she has gradually transitioned from criminal law to private family law, now handling all aspects including divorce, financial settlements, child applications, and injunctions.
At Ridley & Hall Tamara enjoys an excellent work-life balance. This enables her to study during the evenings as she has recently completed Level 1 in British Sign Language and hopes to commence Level 2 shortly. The goal is for Tamara to represent members of the Deaf community without the need for an interpreter.
Tamara is well versed in representing those who are neurodiverse as she has personal experience having a child who is on the spectrum. This allows more understanding of those clients who are neurodivergent and the parents who she represents that have neurodivergent children. Tamara has been able to use her personal experiences to assist Courts when making decisions involving neurodiverse children.
Outside of work and studying Tamara enjoys batch cooking with her slow cookers and baking with her children. She is a pet owner and can be found outside in the nice weather on the decking with the cats, dogs and free running tortoise.
