Solicitor – Private Client (Huddersfield)
Ridley & Hall has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Private Client Solicitor (10+ years PQE) to join our Private Client Team, based in Huddersfield. This role would suit a solicitor with ideally 10+ years’ post-qualified experience who is confident managing a varied caseload and delivering high standards of client care.
As a Private Client Solicitor, you will undertake fee-earning work, support the image and ethos of the firm, and work in line with agreed practice procedures and quality standards. You will play an important role in progressing client matters efficiently, keeping clients informed, and maintaining the professional standards expected across the firm.
About the role
The prime role of the solicitor is to undertake fee-earning work, encourage and promote the image and ethos of the firm, and adhere to agreed practice and procedure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with client work allocated by the Solicitor in charge of the Private Client Team, in accordance with the firm’s Office Manual and quality standards.
- Ensuring client work is progressed expeditiously and clients are kept regularly informed on progress and costs.
- Exercising high standards of client care at all times in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of firm and client documentation and information.
- Achieving agreed levels of billing and time recording.
- Complying with Solicitors Accounts Rules and the rules on Professional Conduct of Solicitors.
- Maintaining clear and precise communication with colleagues across the firm.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
- Supporting, developing and supervising immediate support staff where requested.
- Taking responsibility for your own training and self-development.
- Assisting with in-house training where required.
- Supporting the promotion of the firm’s services and image.
- Handling a wide variety of cases on a day-to-day basis.
- Running your own caseload and picking up cases partway through where needed.
- Working as part of the wider team.
- Assisting with marketing the firm’s client services where required.
About you
We are looking for someone who is admitted to the Solicitors’ Roll and ideally has 10+ years’ post-qualified experience.
You should also have:
- A commitment to the ethos, values and strategy of the firm.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer and word processing skills.
- An organised and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to work well within a team environment.
