Ridley & Hall supports the mental health and wellbeing of its colleagues throughout the pandemic

With the pandemic came the introduction of remote working, hybrid arrangements and then more recently the working world returning to a “new normal”.

Throughout the pandemic and thereafter, Ridley & Hall were clear and transparent with us, letting us know what was happening with the business and how we all needed to adapt. The introduction of remote/ hybrid working was rapid, and successful. It proved that, in a sector that is traditionally office based, home working can thrive! Weekly video team meetings enabled colleagues to stay connected, see some faces and remain feeling part of a team. As someone who lives alone, I found this to be beneficial in maintaining working relationships and friendships.

Being able to connect with colleagues and workplace friends through Teams or the team WhatsApp group and keep up to date with things such as new babies, engagements and gossip added some light-hearted and personal touches. The continuation of the cooking club, workplace competitions, challenges, online events and online quizzes added some entertainment during a challenging time. The Ridley & Hall Mental Health First Aiders have supported colleagues in need and the Directors have funded counselling, provided flexible working and have given us any other necessary mental health support where needed.

Now that “normal” life, as we knew it, has returned, the changes to working that were implemented have continued and this has massively contributed to the recent success Ridley & Hall have achieved. Whilst business goes from strength to strength, Senior Leaders have never lost sight of what is important, the health and wellbeing of their employees. What we have always found to be the case, is that Ridley & Hall hugely value each member of staff and the role they play in their respective teams’ successes.

As we look forward to 2023, Ridley & Hall is looking at people focused business development and growth which will ultimately benefit every one of us at Ridley & Hall.
