Private Client solicitors Jill Waddington and Victoria Maude were delighted to be invited by Matthew Taylor, Director of Taylor Financial Solutions and part of the St James’s Place Wealth Management Group to give a joint presentation to the Wetherby Men’s Forum.

Jill and Victoria have been recommended in the Legal 500 for their expertise in Will and probate issues, estate administration, inheritance tax planning, trusts, care home fee planning and lasting powers of attorney matters.

The presentation took place on Wednesday 18^th October 2017 in Wetherby to 51 delegates.  The topics covered by Jill and Victoria were the importance of making your Will, regularly reviewing your Will to take into account changes in financial and personal circumstances and changes in legislation.  Also discussed were the importance of making Finance and Property Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as Health and Welfare Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as the issues to consider if a member of the family has mobility issues, or is losing mental capacity.

The Inheritance Tax regulations and recent changes in the law and the need for good legal advice and planning were areas of particular interest.  Matthew spoke on the importance of financial planning, touching on the different types of Inheritance Tax planning that is available and also ways to address possible care home fees in the future.
