Ridley & Hall 90th Year Charity fundraising
To celebrate its 90th Year Ridley & Hall committed to charity fundraising at their long established Huddersfield and new Leeds offices.
In April this year shouts of ‘I’m a Director get me out of here’ could be heard at Queens House, Huddersfield when company Directors Adam Fletcher and Anthony Elston were locked in the office for 90 hours to raise funds for Kirkwood Hospice. Queens House started life as The Queens Hotel many years ago and its heritage means it is now a listed building. Its days of comfortable beds and room service are long gone so Adam and Anthony had to make the best of the office amenities. They pitched their tents in the training room, blew up their airbeds and shook out their sleeping bags and survived on takeaway deliveries and the kindness of their colleagues who brought them little treats and kept their spirits up. Friends, colleagues, local business partners and the Mayor of Kirklees Clr Christine Iredale supported them at their midweek ‘lock in’ Charity Dinner on the 2nd of May at Italian restaurant La Trattoria Domenica, which shares Queens House with Ridley & Hall. More than 40 people attended and each guest made a donation as part of the price of their supper! Raffle tickets were also sold and a variety of raffle prizes were donated by local supporters.
During their lock-in challenge, Adam and Anthony also took part in “I’m a Director get me out of here Bush Tucker Trial Breakfast”. The video is available on YouTube and our Twitter and Facebook social media channels @ridleyandhall.
During their 90th Year Ridley & Hall have also supported many other charity events, including Cup Cake day for the Alzheimer’s Society, Sports Relief Day, the Big Sleep Out at the John Smiths Stadium, the London Marathon, Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10k, and Kirkwood Hospice Colour Rush.
Monthly office dress down days keep the charity fundraising going throughout the year.
