Personal Assistant (Huddersfield)

Department: Wills & Probate.
Location: Huddersfield Office.
Salary: Depending on experience

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Personal Assistant to join our growing business, based in Huddersfield.

Your Role

The prime role of a PA is to provide cost effective support to a Senior Solicitor within the team and work of our Private Client department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a workflow supervisor for the Senior Solicitor.
  • Ensure urgent work is promptly completed or delegated to the appropriate team member.
  • Ensure the Fee Earner is organised and completing tasks in the correct priority order and works hard to ensure the fee earner follows this process.
  • Delegate all junior level tasks to administrative resources and assists the team in providing the fee earner with effective and high-quality secretarial support, enabling them to focus on providing the best legal services to clients.
  • Ensures all their work is undertaken in the correct priority order.
  • Devise a plan to share complex tasks which are time bound to make sure they are done.
  • Proactively engage with and assist the solicitor regarding work requirements.
  • Communicate with the solicitor to keep them appraised of a tasks’ status.
  • Engage in mutual delegation of tasks between team members and assist the solicitor to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure clear and concise record-keeping relating to tasks undertaken and correct filing of tasks and supporting materials (e.g., email instructions/discussions).
  • Follow team processes and procedures when undertaking tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members on team processes, procedures, and solutions – ensuring more junior members of the team understand and adhere to these.

Person specification – key skills/qualifications required: 

  • Extensive relevant experience as a personal assistant
  • IT literate with high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience of organising/managing other individuals’ diaries.
  • Experience of proactively directing other individuals
  • Excellent diary management.
  • Exemplary document management and filing.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Applies knowledge and judgement to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Experience of delegating to junior team members
