Our Kinship Care specialist Helen Moody was invited to attend an event in Cornwall last week organised and run by volunteers of the charity ‘Kinfest’. Helen was invited to talk about the issues that kinship carers face and the legal processes. She then offered individual legal advice sessions for those carers who needed legal advice specific to their own situation.

Helen commented: “Kinfest is a wonderful charity who offer support for all types of kinship carers. They organise events throughout the year for kinship carers and their families. This year they spent the week in Cornwall and they are going to Lincolnshire in August. It really gives carers a break and the opportunity to spend some time with carers who really understand their situations. It is also brilliant for all the children to get together. It was so lovely to see what a difference Kinfest makes to these carers lives. I am working with some of the volunteers to offer help and assistance in the future.”
